Physical Requirements
Riding a motorcycle requires alertness, coordination, balance, grip and
fine muscle control of the hands and feet. Certain medical conditions,
recent surgery or injury and/or certain prescription or over-the-counter
drugs may interfere with safe motorcycle operation. If you have a history
of dizzy spells, fainting, seizures, epilepsy, muscular, balance/inner
ear or other physical or stress related problems, are recovering from
recent injury or surgery and/or are taking prescription or over-the-counter
medications, it is imperative that you consult with your doctor or pharmacist
before the course to determine if your medical condition, or the drugs
that you are taking for it, could interfere with your ability to operate
a motorcycle.
If you have a particularly long or short inseam, please contact our office to determine if you will fit on our training motorcycles.
*If you feel that there are motor skill ability, age, physical condition or language limitations that may limit your ability to learn to ride, please feel
free to contact our office to discuss what provision can be made to assist you.
Cancellation
and Refund Policy (BRC & BRC2)
Breach of this contract will result in a lost opportunity for Go Motorcycling,
Inc., and the liquidated damages for such shall be all or part of the course
fee, depending on when notice of cancellation is given as outlined below.
You can enroll on-line, but you cannot "un-enroll" on-line. If you need to
cancel or reschedule your RiderCourse, please phone or email our office.
The following fees apply:
- Go Motorcycling, Inc. must receive a minimum of one week's notice
to cancel or reschedule your class in order to receive a refund of
monies paid, less a $10 processing fee (BRC and/or BRC2).
- If you cancel or reschedule within seven (7) days of your scheduled course you will forfeit $100 (BRC) or $40 (BRC2) of the course fee.
- If you cancel within 24 hours of your class start time, if you fail to
attend any of the classroom or riding sessions once the course
begins, or are unprepared to ride for whatever reason, you will
forfeit the entire course fee (BRC and/or BRC2). You must attend
ALL sessions of the course! There will be no exceptions. No refund
or make-up classes will be given if you fail to meet the attendance requirements.
If rescheduling, you will be expected to mail the appropriate rescheduling fee (as outlined above) by check or money order to:
Go Motorcycling, Inc.
P.O. Box 586
Richfield Springs, NY 13439.
If you are rescheduling to a class that starts within 3 days you may bring
your rescheduling fee to class with you.
If you need to cancel your RiderCourse, Go Motorcycling, Inc. will issue a refund check according to the terms outlined above.
You must allow additional time in your personal schedule for the possibility
that inclement weather conditions or other circumstances preclude
motorcycle riding and extend learning time.
Should you fail to provide your own motorcycle riding gear as follows:
sturdy, low-heeled, over-the-ankle footwear, sturdy long-sleeved shirt or
jacket, sturdy, non-flared long pants and full–fingered gloves, (BRC2 participants must also supply a DOT approved helmet and eye-protection),
you will not be permitted to participate in the course and will be subject to forfeiture of the entire course fee.
There is a possibility that you will be counseled out of the class if you are unable to achieve the objectives of the range exercises within the allotted
time, present a hazard to yourself or other students, or fail to abide by the course safety and instructional guidelines as set forth by the RiderCoaches.
If this should occur, you will forfeit the entire course fee.
There will be a $30 fee assessed for returned checks, in addition to related bank charges.
Your course application is non-transferable.
If you would be interested and available to move to an earlier course date
than the one for which you are scheduled:
a) Check back on our website periodically; additional classes may be
added and/or cancellations by other students may create an earlier
opening.
b) If you would like to be considered for last minute fill-ins (within 24
hours of a class start date/time), please email us with your preferences.
You might specify a particular date that you desire or a general interest in
an earlier date - please specify if you are available weekends or weekdays –
and we will put you on the cancellation list.
Students using their own motorcycles in the BRC
If a student desires to use his/her own motorcycle in the BRC, it must meet
two of the following three criteria. The three criteria are:
- an engine displacement of 500cc or less
- a dry unladen weight of 400 pounds or less
- a seat height of 30” or less
Motorcycles that have been modified or that have had aftermarket
equipment added to conform to the criteria above may not be used as
training motorcycles.
In addition, students using their own motorcycle in the BRC:
- Must have a valid motorcycle license or a motorcycle learner’s permit with a supervising driver
- Are responsible for any damage to their motorcycle or equipment as a result of their participation in the BRC
- Will be subject to a motorcycle inspection before class to detect
defects that could impair handling or control in accordance with the
T-CLOCS inspection
Students may supply their own Class A scooter that meets the above
criteria and conditions.
Note: If you have a motorcycle that meets all the above criteria, it
is probably very similar to our training motorcycles. Why not use a bike we provide and remove the hassles of transporting your bike, wear-and-tear or other damage? Go Motorcycling, Inc. does not provide scooters for use in the BRC
In the case that a motorcycle has been modified to accommodate a physical disability, please contact our office; such cases will be evaluated by NYSMSP on a case-by-case basis.
Students are must notify the training site at least one week in advance of their course date if they choose to use their own motorcycle/scooter in the BRC.
