The BRC has been approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles as an option to the motorcycle road test. Students possessing both a valid NYS Motorcycle Learner’s Permit and NYS Driver’s License who successfully complete the BRC can receive their motorcycle endorsement without having to take the on-street motorcycle road test.

The Motorcycle Association of New York State sends licensing documents to RiderCourse graduates shortly after their course completion. Bring these documents to the DMV to have your license amended. It’s that simple.

You will need to possess a valid NYS Motorcycle Learner’s Permit and Car Driver’s License prior to your course date in order to qualify for the motorcycle road test waiver option. A Motorcycle Learner’s Permit may be obtained at your local DMV office. Click the link to learn more about NYS motorcycle licenses and learner’s permits.
